Comfort and Joy

All the joy of the season is yours with "Glorias" from three memorably melodic contemporary composers: California's Kevin Memley, England's Karl Jenkins, and Norwegian music writer Ola Gjeilo, whose work has been performed at Disney Concert Hall. The Santa Clarita Children’s Choir joins us on stage again as we present songs, both majestic and tender, about the Love, Mystery and Hope of the holidays.

There Will Be Rest

You will find "imagination and melancholy" in American composer Samuel Barber's "Prayers of Kierkegaard," an intimate mixture of chant, counterpoint, and orchestra that celebrate a profound hope in God. Prayers between the great wars of the last century were the motivation for Ralph Vaughan Williams' "Dona Nobis Pacem" and angeleno Frank Ticheli's soulful a cappella meditation that give us our winter concert title, "There Will Be Rest."

It's About Time

Clocks and Calendars give us the theme for the Chorale’s summer concert. From the "Sunrise Mass" by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo to "Evening Watch" by Gustav Holst and "One Day More" from Les Miserables, we offer up music from around the clock and around the globe, including selections from the Santa Clarita Children's Choir.
