You may have heard Handel's "Messiah," but come enjoy George Frederick in his younger days with the energetic and surprising work, "Dixit Dominus." This earliest surviving work in Handel’s own hand features his colorful word-painting and fugue-writing at its best. This choral tribute to our friends across the sea will also entice you with love songs from William Shakespeare, English folk tunes, and John Tavener's haunting "Hymn to Athena, " performed at the funeral of Diana, Princess of Wales.

The Chorale will slake your thirst with two short summer classics from Mozart and Monteverdi and choral pieces from two contemporary composers, Eric Whitacre and Eric William Barnum featuring the most subtle colors of the musical rainbow. Also on tap is a beloved song from the musical genius of Mancini and Mercer; a hymn to water from Gustav Holst; movie music from "The Mission"; and a lovely new arrangement of a song about a famous Scottish lake. Then - take a long tall drink of tunes from "Showboat," plus "Singin' in the Rain," "Lazy River," and "Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat!"
